JD's first large discount supermarket format in China is about to be launched.

Recently, JD.com has come up with a new move in the sinking market. In August, they will open five JD discount supermarkets in Suqian, Jiangsu, and Zhuozhou, Hebei. Unlike the small-scale, low-SKU discount supermarkets currently in the industry, JD discount supermarkets rely on their supply chain advantages and operate in large stores with a wide range of SKUs. The first Zhuozhou JD discount supermarket will cover an area of 5000 square meters, offering over 5000 highly cost-effective consumer goods, with prices generally lower than the market's regular selling prices. Industry insiders believe that this strategic move by JD may reshape the commercial landscape of the sinking market, add new impetus to the high-quality development of regional economies, and provide consumers with a super-rich and super cost-effective shopping experience. It is known that this model has been quietly piloted in Beijing for over a year.
