In response to some medical institutions using vague, general, or easily confused outpatient names, a few medical institutions have used homophones, adjectives, etc. to mislead patients in order to attract patients. Recently, the National Health Commission issued a "Notice on Standardizing the Management of Outpatient Names of Medical Institutions", emphasizing that medical institutions should follow the principles of legal compliance, scientific norms, and clear accuracy in outpatient naming. The "Notice" requires that outpatient names should match the diagnosis and treatment subjects. Based on primary diagnosis and treatment subjects, they can be further refined according to secondary diagnosis and treatment subjects, such as "Internal Medicine Outpatient", "Surgical Outpatient", "Cardiovascular Internal Medicine Outpatient", "Neurosurgery Outpatient", etc. Vague, general, or easily confused names should not be used; names that may cause ambiguity or mislead patients should not be used; names that imply therapeutic effectiveness using homophones, adjectives, etc. should not be used. Special disease outpatient clinics set up by TCM hospitals should be named after diseases and symptoms, in line with TCM theory, scientific norms, brief and accurate, fully considering the public's acceptance, starting from the perspective of ease of understanding, using more popular and understandable names, such as "Palpitation Outpatient", "Insomnia Outpatient", etc., exaggerated or unrealistic language should not be used, and language that misleads patients should not be used. Medical institutions should comprehensively review the outpatient settings and naming situations of their own institutions, rectify the problems of non-standard outpatient settings and naming immediately, adjust outpatient signs and guiding signs, optimize outpatient management processes, and provide guidance services for patients to improve the patient's medical experience; through official websites, WeChat public accounts, and other channels, outpatient information should be published to facilitate patients seeking medical treatment.
