New York gold futures rose more than 0.8%, reclaiming the $3400 level, while the gold and silver index closed up nearly 4.5%.

On Monday, the New York closing price of spot gold rose by 0.32% to $3374.23 per ounce. COMEX gold futures rose by 0.84% to $3401.0 per ounce. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index closed up by 4.49% at 215.77 points. Spot silver rose by 1.02% to $37.4203 per ounce, while COMEX silver futures rose by 1.38% to $37.440 per ounce. COMEX copper futures rose by 0.43% to $4.4545 per pound. Spot platinum rose by 0.93% to $1332.85 per ounce, while spot palladium fell by 0.55% to $1206.01 per ounce.
