The President of Lithuania accepted the government's resignation.
According to Lithuanian media reports, Lithuanian President Nauseda accepted the government's resignation on the 4th, submitted by Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, and appointed Finance Minister Rimantas adius to lead the caretaker government until the new cabinet is formed. Skvernelis announced the resignation of the nineteenth Lithuanian government at a special meeting held that day, saying, "Following my decision to resign as Prime Minister, I announce the resignation of the Lithuanian government." According to Lithuanian law, once the government resigns, the president must be notified on the same day. The president will sign a decree accepting the government's resignation and entrust the outgoing cabinet to perform caretaker functions until the new cabinet is appointed. The president should also appoint an interim prime minister.
