On August 4th, the Baltic Dry Index fell to a more than two-week low due to a decline in freight rates for large vessels. The Baltic Dry Index dropped 48 points or 2.38% from the previous trading day to 1970 points, the lowest level since July 16th. The Capesize Index fell 138 points or 4.2% to 3158 points. Capesize vessels' daily profits decreased by $1144 to $26187. The Panamax Index fell 11 points or 0.7% to 1633 points, approaching a four-week low. Panamax vessels' daily profits dropped by $102 to $14696. The Supramax Index rose 1 point or 0.08% to 1270 points.
