The Ministry of Water Resources has launched a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Tianjin.

According to the forecast, Tianjin will experience heavy to torrential rain on August 4th, with locally heavy rainfall. As a result, the Jiyun River in Tianjin and its tributaries Zhuo River and Juyu River will experience rising water levels, while the Chaobai River will maintain a high flow for flood control. In accordance with the "Emergency Response Regulations for Flood and Drought Prevention and Control" of the Ministry of Water Resources, a level IV emergency response for flood defense was initiated for Tianjin at 20:00 on August 4th. The Tianjin Municipal Water Affairs Bureau and the Haihe River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources were required to closely monitor changes in rainfall in the basin, strengthen monitoring, forecasting and early warning, conduct rolling consultations and assessments, implement a systematic, scientific, safe, and precise scheduling of flood control projects, strengthen inspections and defenses of embankments, effectively implement safety measures for reservoirs and ongoing construction projects during the flood season, focus on preventing mountain torrent disasters, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property. Currently, the Ministry of Water Resources has maintained a level III emergency response for flood defense in Inner Mongolia, Gansu, and Qinghai, and a level IV emergency response for flood defense in Beijing, Hebei, Jiangsu, Anhui, Guangdong, Guangxi, Ningxia, Xinjiang, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
