The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has formulated 34 disaster prevention, reduction, and relief measures for different regions and crops to ensure a bountiful autumn harvest.
In the peak summer season, the overall climate conditions in our country are deviating, with more frequent extreme weather and climate events. Agricultural disasters are presenting a situation of "floods in the south, droughts in the north, and dry conditions in between". The autumn grain production is facing significant risks and challenges due to the overlapping of droughts and floods. Currently, it is a critical period for the formation of autumn grain production. In order to implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued the "Work Plan for Disaster Prevention, Reduction, Relief, and Ensuring a Bountiful Autumn Harvest in Agriculture". A total of 34 disaster prevention, reduction, and relief measures were formulated for different regions, disaster types, and crops. It is required that all regions make efforts to prevent disasters before they occur, respond promptly when disasters strike, and carry out rescue efforts on the front line. The goal is to minimize reductions in heavily affected areas, stabilize production in moderately affected areas, and increase production in unaffected areas, in order to secure a bountiful autumn harvest and abundant annual grain production through all possible means.
