The General Office of the People's Government of Shanghai Municipality has issued the "Several Measures to Support Enterprises in Strengthening Basic Research and Enhancing New Momentum for High-Quality Development in Shanghai." It mentions supporting enterprises in establishing basic research public welfare funds. Supporting enterprises and social forces in establishing basic research public welfare foundations to guide and drive the whole society to donate and support basic research. For basic research projects supported by the basic research public welfare foundation, 50% of the support will be provided based on the foundation's investment. Encouraging university foundations to expand funding directions and further strengthen support for basic research.
