On August 4, 2025, the Second Intermediate People's Court of Beijing Municipality publicly announced the verdict on the corruption and bribery case of Xiang Ming, former party secretary and chief prosecutor of the First Branch of the Beijing People's Procuratorate. Xiang Ming was sentenced to death for corruption, with a two-year suspension of execution, deprivation of political rights for life, and confiscation of all personal property. After the two-year suspension of the death penalty is reduced to life imprisonment according to law, he will be imprisoned for life without parole or probation.
