Our country took the lead in formulating and releasing the world's first international standard for the determination of organic solvents in footwear.
According to the National Standards Committee, the first global international standard for the determination of organic solvents in footwear, led by China, was officially released recently. This international standard focuses on the globally important issue of detecting residual organic solvents in footwear. With the advanced technology of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, it innovatively solves the traditional pain points of limited types of substances detected in a single test and complex operations. It can accurately detect the residues of 15 common toxic organic solvents such as formaldehyde, N-methylacetamide, 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, ethylene glycol ethers, and derivatives. In comparison to traditional methods that can only detect 4 to 6 types at a time, the coverage of detection has tripled. While ensuring high precision, the efficiency of detection has increased significantly by 3 to 5 times. This establishes a comprehensive, precise, and efficient technical advantage system for the detection of organic solvent residues in footwear. During the standard development process, experts from China, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and other countries actively contributed their wisdom to promote the coordination of this standard with international regulations, saving more compliance costs for global footwear exporters and leading the healthy upgrade of the global footwear industry.
