Guangdong Huidong County reports: all 5 missing persons in Baima Mountain have been confirmed dead.

Today, the Emergency Management Bureau of Huizhou County, Guangdong Province, issued a situation report: At around 20:22 on August 1, 2025, the 110 emergency hotline received a report from a citizen that five people who were playing in Baishan Village, Baipen Zhu Town, Huizhou County, were washed away by water and lost contact. After receiving the report, the emergency, public security, firefighting, and Baipen Zhu Town government departments organized professional rescue teams to conduct search and rescue operations. Due to the complex terrain and swift water flow in the incident area, which is undeveloped and lacks safety conditions, as well as low visibility at night, numerous hidden currents in the river, and continuous heavy rainfall in recent days, the search and rescue operation faced great difficulties. By around 14:15 on August 3, all five missing persons were found, but they had no vital signs. Currently, various follow-up measures are being carried out in an orderly manner.
