According to the Beijing Meteorological Observatory monitoring, from 14:00 to 21:00 on August 2nd, the average precipitation in the city was 1.2 millimeters, with the urban area average being 0.1 millimeters. The highest precipitation was observed at Hongkou in Mentougou District, with 19.8 millimeters. It is expected that in the next 1-2 hours, the intensity of precipitation will increase, extending to most parts of Beijing. Local areas in Mentougou, Fangshan, Changping, Huairou, Miyun, Shunyi, Haidian, Chaoyang, etc., may experience hourly rainfall of 30-50 millimeters, accompanied by thunder and lightning and short-lived strong winds of 6-7 on the Beaufort scale.
