Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping recently signed an order to release the flag designs for the military space force, cyber space force, information support force, and logistical support force. On the occasion of the upcoming 91st anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army, he sent holiday greetings to all officers and soldiers of the People's Liberation Army, armed police, military civilian personnel, reservists, and militia. The released military flags are based on the August 1st flag, fully demonstrating the Party's absolute leadership over the military, reflecting the high level of unity and coordination of the people's army as it advances together. The flag designs continue the basic pattern of setting the military emblem above and the name below, using tones and patterns that represent the corresponding branch of the military, emphasizing the strategic nature of the branch and inspiring a sense of honor and mission in the troops. The release of the branch flags marks the establishment of a new era of the People's Liberation Army flag system, consisting of the August 1st flag, and the army, navy, air force, and rocket force flags, as well as the flags of the military space force, cyber space force, information support force, and logistical support force. This will surely inspire and encourage all officers and soldiers to strive tirelessly to achieve the centenary goal of the founding of the army and build the People's Liberation Army into a world-class military force, adding new glory to the flags. The branch flags will be in use starting from August 1, 2025. In response to the development needs of the flag system, the Central Military Commission also issued a decision to amend the "Regulations on Flag Management," making revisions to the types of flags, occasions and locations of use, in order to ensure the regulation and maintenance of flag dignity and provide legal protection.
