Pan Huimin, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, stated at the National Energy Administration's routine press conference for the third quarter of 2025 on the 31st that in the first half of this year, renewable energy continued to maintain its dominant position in newly installed capacity, accounting for nearly 60% of the national total installed capacity; renewable energy generation accounted for nearly 40% of the national total electricity generation, exceeding the combined electricity consumption of the tertiary industry and urban and rural residents. The newly added electricity generation from wind power and photovoltaics exceeded the incremental electricity consumption of the whole society.
