On July 31, it was reported by the Shanghai police that after investigation, Xu and Zhang deliberately posted false videos of severe flooding at the entrance of a famous shopping mall on Shimeng Road in a WeChat group and short video platform; Ma and Wang separately edited and synthesized videos of "serious flooding in Fengxian District" using old videos from other regions to attract traffic on online platforms; Nie posted videos of several cars being washed away by floods in other provinces and falsely claimed that it happened in Shanghai; Zhou spread rumors by posting a video of tourists sheltering under umbrellas on the Bund observation deck three days ago, claiming that on July 30, a large number of tourists were stranded on the Bund due to the typhoon. Currently, these 6 individuals have been detained by the police for fabricating facts, spreading rumors, and disrupting public order.
