In the first half of the year, the increase in the number of charging infrastructure in China compared to the same period last year rose by 99.2%.

According to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, from January to June this year, China's charging infrastructure increased by nearly double compared to last year. The latest data shows that from January to June 2025, the increment of charging infrastructure was 3.282 million units, an increase of 99.2% year-on-year. Among them, the increment of public charging facilities was 517,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 30.6%, and the increment of private charging facilities was 2.765 million units, a year-on-year increase of 120.8%. It is worth noting that in the first half of this year, domestic sales of new energy vehicles reached 5.878 million units, and both the charging infrastructure and new energy vehicles continued to grow rapidly. The ratio of charging piles to vehicles is 1:1.8, and the construction of charging infrastructure can basically meet the rapid development of new energy vehicles. In addition, as of the end of June 2025, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in China reached 16.10 million units, an increase of 55.6% year-on-year.
