Pan Huimin, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that renewable energy continues to maintain its dominant position in new installed capacity, accounting for close to 60% of the total installed capacity nationwide. In the first half of this year, the country's renewable energy added 268 million kilowatts of installed capacity, a year-on-year increase of 99.3%, accounting for approximately 91.5% of the new installed capacity. Among them, hydropower added 3.93 million kilowatts, wind power added 51.39 million kilowatts, solar power added 2.12 billion kilowatts, and biomass power added 710,000 kilowatts. By the end of June this year, the country's renewable energy installed capacity reached 2.159 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 30.6%, accounting for approximately 59.2% of the country's total installed capacity, including 440 million kilowatts of hydropower, 573 million kilowatts of wind power, 1.1 billion kilowatts of solar power, and 47 million kilowatts of biomass power.
