Eleven satellite casinos in Macau must end operation by the end of the year. MGM Cotai Casino stopped operation early this morning.

According to the Wise Finance APP, 11 "satellite casinos" in Macau must cease operations by the end of the year, including the JY Entertainment Casino under the Macau Entertainment Group which ceased operations early this morning. These satellite casinos do not have gambling licenses themselves, but operate in partnership with licensed gaming companies, similar to a franchise model. The Macau government amended relevant laws in 2022, stipulating that after the three-year transition period, satellite casinos must cease operations or become directly operated by licensed gaming enterprises.
