National Energy Administration: The growth rate of electricity consumption in the whole society is stabilizing and rebounding, with a small increase in demand for natural gas.
Xing Yiteng, Deputy Director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, stated that in the first half of the year, the growth rate of electricity consumption in the whole society stabilized and rebounded, with growth rates of 4.7% and 4.4% in April and May respectively, and a year-on-year increase of 5.4% in June. Natural gas demand saw a small increase, with urban gas consumption being the main driving factor. Coal consumption decreased slightly, mainly due to factors such as mild winter weather and a significant increase in new energy output. Finished oil consumption continued to decline, with the continued substitution effect of new energy vehicles and LNG heavy-duty trucks in the transportation sector.
