The United States has imposed the largest sanctions on Iran since 2018.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury announced on the 30th that sanctions have been imposed on the shipping network controlled by Iranian businessman Mohammad Hussein Shamkhani, involving more than 50 entities and individuals as well as more than 50 oil tankers and container ships. This is the largest scale of sanctions imposed since the US government implemented "maximum pressure" on Iran in 2018.
