A strong earthquake occurred in the waters near the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia on July 30th local time. The National Center for Disaster Prevention and Response of Chile issued a tsunami red alert on the same day, requesting people in coastal areas to evacuate to safe areas. According to the announcement issued by the center, the entire coast of Chile from the northernmost point of Arica and Parinacota to the southernmost point of Magallanes - Chilean Antarctica may be affected.
