Chinese herbal medicine must be labeled with an expiration date. The new regulation will be implemented starting next month.

China's traditional Chinese medicine tablets will be required to have expiration dates starting from August 1st. It is understood that on July 14, 2023, the National Medical Products Administration issued the "Regulations on the Labeling Management of Chinese Medicine Tablets", which clearly require the labeling of Chinese medicine tablets to include expiration dates. The "Regulations" will come into effect on August 1, 2024, with the expiration date labeling requirement taking effect from August 1, 2025.
