The Social Affairs Department of the National Development and Reform Commission recently organized a seminar on improving and perfecting family support policies. Experts and scholars from the Macro Academy of Social Sciences, Economic Academy of Social Sciences, China Population and Development Research Center, China Academy of Fiscal Science, Peking University, Nankai University, and Capital University of Economics and Business discussed current issues and difficulties faced by family construction, focusing on the characteristics of family structure, function, and needs. They also researched and discussed foreign experiences and practices in family support policies, and put forward suggestions and recommendations on improving family support policies in terms of public services, social insurance, social welfare, finance, finance, and taxation.
