National Immigration Administration: The scope of "fully online" application for replacement or renewal of entry and exit documents will be expanded to more pilot cities.

On July 30th, the State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on "achieving high-quality completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan", introducing the achievements in the development of China's immigration management during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and answering questions from reporters. Xiong Shuren, Director of the Department of Immigration Administration of the State Immigration Administration, introduced at the meeting that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the State Immigration Administration continuously improved the convenience of applying for entry and exit documents. Building on the continuous optimization of the "run only once" and "nationwide services" for entry and exit documents, in May 2024, the State Immigration Administration piloted the implementation of the "fully online application" policy for some entry and exit documents in 20 cities including Beijing and Shanghai. Eligible applicants can apply for replacement and renewal of entry and exit documents online, realizing the process of handling entry and exit documents without visiting any office. Next, the State Immigration Administration will continue to expand the scope of the pilot cities for "fully online application", further releasing policy dividends and making it more convenient for Chinese citizens to "go abroad".
