The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and National Supervisory Commission reported on July 29 that, according to the Gansu Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, recently, with the approval of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee, the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission of Gansu Province has launched an official investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal issues of Jia Jianwei, former member of the party committee and director of the Gansu Provincial Museum. After investigation, it was found that Jia Jianwei had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original intentions and missions, violated political discipline, transferred and concealed stolen goods, colluded with others, obstructed and deceived the organization; disregarded the eight-point regulation spirit of the central government, accepted gifts and money that may influence the fair execution of public duties, accepted banquets that may affect the fair execution of public duties, exceeded the standard use of office space, conducted fraudulent rectifications, concealed property, engaged in profit-making activities in violation of discipline, indulged and condoned his relatives to seek private interests using his official influence; violated national laws in the acquisition of cultural relics. He engaged in power-for-money transactions, used his position for personal gain in engineering projects, product research and development authorizations, and accepted large sums of money and goods. Jia Jianwei has seriously violated party political discipline, the spirit of the eight-point regulation of the central government, organizational discipline, and integrity discipline, violated national laws and regulations, and is suspected of bribery crimes. He has not restrained himself after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and has continued his misconduct even after the 19th and 20th National Congresses. The situation is serious and requires strict handling. In accordance with the relevant regulations of the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Sanctions Law for Public Servants of the People's Republic of China," the Discipline Inspection Commission of Gansu Province has decided, after the approval of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee, to expel Jia Jianwei from the party; cancel his corresponding retirement benefits; confiscate his ill-gotten gains from violating discipline and laws; and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorate for investigation and prosecution, along with the implicated assets.
