President Trump announced on Tuesday, while speaking to the media on the current presidential plane, that he will soon be flying on a new "Air Force One" in February. Boeing originally planned to deliver two refurbished 747 aircraft last year to replace the aging "Air Force One". However, the project has been delayed for several years and is over budget by billions of dollars. Trump told reporters he was not sure of the exact cost of refurbishing the 13-year-old Qatar Airways jet for presidential use, and noted that it "depends on the military". According to Reuters, the US Air Force Secretary estimated last month that the project could cost hundreds of millions of dollars, while Democratic lawmakers suggested that the renovation cost could exceed $1 billion.
