In the first half of this year, the national market supervision department completed food safety supervision and spot checks on 2.639 million batches, taking down, sealing, and recalling 69,000 batches of unqualified products. A total of 181,000 cases of food violations were investigated, resulting in fines of 740 million yuan, 653 cases transferred to judicial authorities, and restrictions imposed on 1,372 individuals. The State Administration for Market Regulation is mobilizing the entire system to continue to address food safety issues in schools, strengthen inspections of food safety in online food delivery platforms, and carry out special campaigns against the production and sale of fake and inferior meat products, counterfeit rural products, abuse of food additives, and adulteration of edible plant oils. We will persist in tracing the origins of problematic products and eliminating hidden dangers in a timely manner, and we will intensify investigations into relevant clues, cracking down severely on illegal and irregular behavior.
