On July 29, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Li Lecheng, met with a delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the US-China Business Council, Rupert Hammond-Chambers, in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on equipment machinery, intelligent manufacturing and other fields. Representatives from companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Otis Global, and Apple attended the meeting and communicated with relevant departments on their business development in China. Li Lecheng stated that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will continue to provide services and protection for foreign-funded enterprises, and is committed to maintaining a fair, just, and open market competition order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of all types of market entities. He hoped that the US-China Business Council could create a good environment for the healthy development of Sino-US industry cooperation and trade exchanges, encourage more American companies to invest in and engage in China, actively participate in China's new industrialization process, provide more competitive products and services, and achieve mutual benefit. Rupert Hammond-Chambers appreciated the practical measures taken by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to support the development of foreign-funded enterprises in China, and stated that the US-China Business Council will continue to promote the healthy development of Sino-US economic and trade relations.
