Tianjin Jizhou has experienced the largest flash flood in 70 years, with more than 10,000 residents evacuated.
Around 12:00 on July 27th, Tianjin's Jizhou District started experiencing rainfall. By the afternoon of July 28th, the average rainfall in the entire Jizhou District reached 92.7 millimeters, with the maximum rainfall reaching 252.6 millimeters, occurring in Changzhou Village in Xiaying Town. The largest flash flood in the area in seventy years occurred, causing flooding in 13 villages along the Guo River. By 11:00 p.m. on July 28th, Tianjin's Jizhou District had relocated a total of 10,527 people and activated 7 centralized relocation sites. Fourteen mountain torrents in Jizhou District of Tianjin produced runoff, with one underground tunnel closed, 8 power lines cut due to danger, 29 communication facilities damaged, and some county roads blocked. After the efforts of various departments in emergency rescue, 6 power lines have been restored, while 2 are still undergoing emergency repairs. 12 communication facilities have also been restored, and currently, rescue operations are continuing.
