Woodside has reached an agreement with ExxonMobil to become the operator of assets in the Bass Strait.
Australia's Woodside Energy has announced that it will take over the operation of assets in the Browse Basin in Australia from ExxonMobil in order to achieve cost savings of over $60 million and produce more natural gas for sale. Woodside stated that upon completion of the transaction next year, it will gain the rights to operate offshore production assets in the Browse Basin, the Longford Gas Plant, the Long Island Point gas liquefaction facility, and associated pipeline infrastructure. Woodside, headquartered in Perth, said, "Operating a larger portfolio of assets in Australia will generate economies of scale, and it is expected that after deducting transition and integration costs, Woodside will achieve synergies of over $60 million from the Browse Basin business."
