The Ministry of Water Resources has initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in the provinces of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Jiangxi.
According to the forecast, affected by Typhoon "Zhu Jie Cao", from July 28th to August 2nd, there will be a strong rainfall process in eastern Jiangnan, most of Jianghuai, and southern parts of eastern Huanghuai. In some areas, including northern and central parts of Zhejiang, Shanghai, southern and central parts of Anhui, central and southern parts of Jiangsu, and northeast Jiangxi, there will be heavy to severe rain. Rivers around Taihu, Qiantang River, Cao'e River, Tiao River, Jiao River in Zhejiang, Li Xiahe area in Jiangsu, Chaohu, Qingyi River, Shuiyang River in Anhui, and Changjiang, Le'an River in Jiangxi will experience significant rise in water levels. Some small and medium-sized rivers in the heavy rain zone may experience floods above the warning level. In accordance with the "Emergency Response Regulations for Flood Prevention and Drought Relief of the Ministry of Water Resources", the Ministry of Water Resources has initiated Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Jiangxi provinces at 14:00 on July 28, and will maintain Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Zhejiang.
