The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a level-four emergency response to marine disasters in Zhejiang and Shanghai.

Affected by this year's 8th typhoon "Zhu Jie Cao", a large to huge wave process will occur in the nearshore waters of Shanghai and northern Zhejiang, and a disastrous storm surge process will occur along the coast of Wenzhou, Zhejiang. The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center has issued a yellow alert for nearshore waves and a yellow alert for storm surges. According to the "Marine Disaster Emergency Plan", the Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a level four emergency response for marine disasters in Zhejiang Province and Shanghai Municipality at 9:00 on July 28, requesting the natural resources departments of the two provinces to make emergency preparations for flood control and wave defense in accordance with their responsibilities; all relevant units involved in marine activities should take active and effective measures to organize fishing boats, aquaculture fish cages, and fish farms to prepare for flood control.
