Ministry of Ecology and Environment: Plans to complete the investigation and immediate rectification of heavy metal environmental safety risks by the end of this year.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Pei Xiaofei, said at a routine press conference on the 28th that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and nine other departments recently jointly issued the "Action Plan for Investigation and Treatment of Environmental Hazards of Heavy Metals". The plan aims to complete the investigation and immediate rectification of environmental hazards of heavy metals by the end of this year; by the end of 2027, to basically complete the treatment of high-risk hazards, significantly enhance the monitoring and early warning of heavy metal environmental risks, and improve emergency response capabilities; by the end of 2030, to fully complete the rectification of hazards and effectively control the risk of heavy metal environmental pollution.
