At the meeting, Cai Zili, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Taxation, stated that the State Administration of Taxation is promoting compliance through precise supervision, resolutely cracking down on tax evasion in accordance with the law, and has exposed more than 60 cases of tax evasion by online anchors and professionals in the entertainment industry, strengthening the concept of lawful taxation through warning and deterrence. From the settlement of personal income tax at the end of this year, more than 100 million taxpayers have lawfully applied for refunds of over 130 billion yuan, and over 7 million taxpayers have lawfully declared additional taxes of over 48 billion yuan. In this process of refund and additional payments, the new personal income tax system in China demonstrates the norms of rule of law and fairness and justice. In addition, Wang Daoshu, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Taxation, introduced that in the crackdown on illegal activities, they are focusing on key individuals, and have lawfully dealt with a number of high-income individuals, including online anchors and celebrities, who have evaded taxes. Since the beginning of 2021, the number of cases of tax evasion by online anchors has reached over 360, with the recovery of over 30 billion yuan in taxes.
