State Administration of Taxation: In the first half of this year, the number of overseas tourists enjoying tax refunds in China increased by 186% year-on-year.

According to the China Finance APP, on July 28th, the State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on "high-quality completion of the '14th Five-Year Plan'". Wang Daoshu, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Taxation, stated that this year, we have been promoting the "buy and refund" service for exit tax refunds nationwide, with the efficiency of tax refund processing increasing by more than 40%, which has strongly supported inbound tourism and consumption. From January to June this year, the number of domestic tax refund shops has doubled, exceeding 7200, with the number of tax refund recipients increasing by 186% year-on-year, and the sales volume and refund amount of tax refund items increasing by 94.6% and 93.2% respectively. The popularity of "traveling in China" among overseas tourists continues to rise.
