According to a report on the website of the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post on July 27, a high-level American business delegation is set to visit China. The report states that the trip to Beijing is organized by the US-China Business Council, with the delegation led by the chairman of the board of directors of the council and CEO of FedEx, Raj Subramaniam. The complete list of delegation members and itinerary have not been announced yet, but two sources revealed that some senior executives from Boeing and the president of the US-China Business Council, Craig Allen, are expected to join the delegation. "They are expected to meet with Chinese officials and may potentially restart discussions in the commercial sector," one source said. The report further stated that this upcoming visit will be the highest-level American business delegation sent since President Trump initiated a new round of tariff wars in April of this year.
