Peking University will completely abolish the GPA system.

On July 25th, Peking University released a notice on its internal network entitled "Notice on Further Improving Undergraduate Academic Evaluation Work." The content includes: starting from the 2025 cohort, the use of GPA will no longer be used in various types of academic evaluation work; course assessment results can be evaluated and recorded using a percentage or grading system; no longer setting guiding course excellent rate indicators. In addition, in order to encourage students to explore bravely, engage in interdisciplinary learning, and take challenging courses, the notice also mentioned: students can choose one course outside of the public basic courses and major courses to be recorded with a "pass" grade.
