Shanxi Province issues orange geological disaster warning and yellow mountain flood warning.
On July 26, 2025, the Department of Natural Resources of Shanxi Province and the Shanxi Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a geological disaster meteorological risk warning. From 8:00 pm on July 26 to 8:00 pm on July 27, the geological disaster meteorological risk warning level for parts of Yanggao County, Tianzhen County, Lingqiu County, Ying County in Datong City, Wuzhai County in Xinzhou City, Hequ County, Baode County, and Pianguan County in Xinzhou City is Level 2, with a high risk of geological disasters caused by heavy rainfall. The geological disaster meteorological risk warning level for parts of Yangqu County in Taiyuan City, Xinrong District, Pingcheng District, Yungang District, Yunzhou District, Hunyuan County, Zuoyun County, Shuocheng District, Pinglu District, Shanyin County, Youyu County, Huairen City, Daixian County in Xinzhou City, Ningwu County, Jingle County, Shenchixian, Yuanping City, Xing County in Lvliang City, and Lin County in Xinzhou City is Level 3, with a higher risk of geological disasters. The Department of Water Resources of Shanxi Province and the Shanxi Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a flash flood disaster meteorological risk warning: From 8:00 pm on July 26 to 8:00 pm on July 27, 2025, due to heavy rainfall, there is a high possibility of flash floods in 10 counties in Datong, and potential flash floods in 30 counties in 6 cities in the western and central parts of Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Taiyuan, Yangquan, northern and western parts of Lvliang, and northwestern parts of Linfen. Other areas may also experience flash floods due to localized short-term heavy rainfall. All areas should pay attention to real-time monitoring, flood prevention warnings, and evacuation measures.
