The China Earthquake Administration has carried out emergency response work for a 4.2 magnitude earthquake in Xiangfen County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province.

The China Earthquake Network officially determined that a magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred in Xiangfen County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province at 10:13 on July 25, 2025, with a source depth of 19 kilometers. After the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration quickly initiated a level four emergency response service, with video linkages to the China Earthquake Network Center and the Shanxi Provincial Seismological Bureau to receive reports on the situation. They requested relevant units to conduct joint consultations, strengthen earthquake monitoring and post-earthquake trend analysis, and promptly report relevant information. Currently, the Shanxi Provincial Seismological Bureau has dispatched a field work team to the earthquake-stricken area to assist the local government in emergency response efforts. It is understood that the entire cities of Linfen and Yuncheng felt the earthquake, with Xiangfen County experiencing strong tremors.
