Our country has increased the number of international wetland cities to 22, and the wetland area remains stable at over 56.35 million hectares.

According to the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Ramsar Convention, 9 cities in China including Chongming in Shanghai and Dali in Yunnan have been certified as "International Wetland Cities". With this, the total number of international wetland cities in China has reached 22, ranking first in the world. In recent years, China has continuously established and improved the legal system for wetland protection, firmly guarding the ecological security bottom line of wetlands, and maintaining the national wetland area at more than 56.35 million hectares.
