Former Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Education Department of Guizhou Province, Zou Lianke, has been expelled from the party and dismissed from public office.
According to the news from the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has initiated an investigation into the serious violations of discipline and law by Zou Lianke, a member of the 13th Committee of the Communist Party of China in Guizhou Province and the former Party Secretary and Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education.
It was found that Zou Lianke had lost his ideals and beliefs, deviated from his original intentions and missions, resisted organizational investigations, violated organizational principles by not reporting personal matters as required, breached the bottom line of integrity by accepting gifts and money improperly, used public power for personal gain by engaging in power-for-money transactions, and accepted huge illegal gains. Zou Lianke seriously violated the party's political discipline, organizational discipline, and integrity discipline, which constitutes a serious violation of duty-related crimes and is suspected of bribery. His actions were severe and detrimental, and therefore must be dealt with seriously.
Zou Lianke proactively confessed, truthfully explained his violations and suspected crimes, fully returned the gains from his wrongdoings, showed a good attitude of admitting mistakes and repentance, and thus may be given a lenient or mitigated punishment.
In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Sanctions Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," the decision to expel Zou Lianke from the Party was made after discussions at meetings of the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The decision to dismiss him from his public office, revoke his delegate qualification for the 13th Party Congress of Guizhou Province, confiscate his illicit gains, and refer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorial authority for investigation and prosecution was also made. His expulsion from the Party will be ratified at the upcoming meeting of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee.
