Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: the old standard electric bicycles can be sold until November 30th.

The mandatory national standard "Safety Technical Specifications for Electric Bicycles" will officially be implemented on September 1st. On the 24th, it was learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that after September 1st, all newly produced electric bicycles must meet the requirements of the new standard. Electric bicycles produced or imported before August 31st that do not meet the "Technical Specifications" but comply with the old version standards can be sold until November 30, 2025. From December 1, 2025, all electric bicycles sold must meet the new standard. Therefore, dealers can continue to sell vehicles produced according to the old standard before December 1st, but consumers are encouraged to prioritize the purchase of new standard vehicles with higher safety and better practicality from now on to reduce safety hazards.
