The new mandatory national standard "Technical Specifications for the Safety of Electric Bicycles" will be implemented from September 1st. It was learned by reporters on the 24th that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Fire and Rescue Bureau recently jointly issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Implementation of Mandatory National Standards for Electric Bicycles and Speeding up the Supply of New Products", aiming to promote the implementation of technical specifications and accelerate the market supply of high-quality electric bicycles. The opinions deploy strict measures in aspects such as production management, certification management, sales supervision, registration management, updating of old vehicles, protection of consumer rights, and the establishment of long-term mechanisms, promoting adjustments and adaptations in all links of the electric bicycle industry chain according to the requirements of the new standard, and accelerating the formation of an industrial ecology and regulatory model that meets the requirements of the new standard.
