Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu presided over the executive meeting of the Ministry on the 23rd, reviewed and provisionally approved the environmental impact assessment report of Units 1 and 2 of Zhejiang Jin Qi Men Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the supervision of construction permit application, the "Technical Requirements and Detection Methods for Automatic Monitoring System of Non-Methane Total Hydrocarbons in Ambient Air" and other three national ecological and environmental monitoring standards. The meeting emphasized that nuclear safety is the lifeblood of nuclear power development and strict supervision should be carried out to promote high-level safety. It is necessary to strengthen the supervision of nuclear safety during the construction phase based on the characteristics of the project design, further urging operating units, general contracting units, and others to implement nuclear safety responsibilities, operate an effective feedback system, and ensure the high-quality construction of nuclear power projects. It is necessary to strengthen the mid-term and post-regulation of environmental impact assessment of nuclear power plants, urge operating units to implement regulatory requirements, and ensure that the construction of nuclear power plants complies with all relevant laws and regulations on ecological and environmental protection.
