According to Qatar News Agency, on July 22, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stated that the Qatar Olympic Committee has officially submitted a bid to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Mohammed stated that this bid is based on Qatar's successful hosting of several major international sporting events, particularly the highly praised 2022 FIFA World Cup. Officials from the Qatari Olympic Committee and the Bid Committee explained that Qatar's bid for the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games is a reflection of the country's vision, with sports becoming a core pillar of Qatar's national strategy.
