On July 23, the Cultural and Tourism Bureau of Sunan County, Gansu Province, released a statement regarding the media reports of "exorbitant toll fees" charged at the Mati Temple Scenic Area in Gansu. After verification, it was found that there is an issue of shared roads between the scenic area and public roads at the Mati Scenic Area, causing inconvenience, for which they deeply apologize. It was verified that the scenic area has set up a working station at the entrance of the parking lot to provide crowd control services for visitors, and there is no issue of setting up roadblocks to charge "exorbitant toll fees". The reported issue of charging 300 yuan per person as "exorbitant toll fees" actually refers to the cost of a deep tour product launched by the Mati Scenic Area in January 2023. This deep tour product includes services such as interpretation, exclusive route tours, etc.
