The Zhtng Finance APP has learned that after months of uncertainty, the new tariff agreement reached by President Donald Trump of the United States has finally dissipated some of the uncertainty, outlining a new trade pattern for the world's largest manufacturing region. On Tuesday, Trump announced an agreement with Japan to impose a 15% tariff on imported goods from Japan, including automobiles, which make up the largest part of the US-Japan trade deficit. Another agreement reached by the United States with the Philippines set the tariff rate at 19%, the same as that reached with Indonesia, which is 1 percentage point lower than Vietnam's 20% base tariff rate, indicating that most countries in Southeast Asia may receive similar tariff rates.
