Hainan Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Congress Feng Fei stated at a news conference held by the State Council Information Office on July 23 that currently the marine economy in Hainan Province accounts for one-third of its GDP, and there is still a need for further development. After the closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the province will continue to strengthen its development towards the sea, develop the marine economy, and strive to create another "Hainan on the sea".
