Ministry of Commerce: will promote the establishment of a comprehensive free trade pilot zone in Hainan Island

Yuan Xiaoming, Assistant Minister of Commerce, stated at a press conference at the State Council Information Office today that they will support Hainan Free Trade Port in actively aligning with international high-standard economic and trade rules, conducting pilot projects, focusing on liberalizing and facilitating trade and investment, and expanding market opening. At the same time, leveraging the advantage of an open platform, the Ministry of Commerce will promote the establishment of a comprehensive free trade pilot zone across the entire island, guide the establishment of a comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, and promote comprehensive pilot projects for the expansion of the service industry opening. In addition, they will continue to cultivate and develop new growth drivers, introduce targeted policies for key industries, further promote innovative development in goods trade, service trade, and digital trade, actively foster new formats and models, accelerate the attraction of industrial clusters, and help build a modern industrial system.
