On July 23, Feng Fei, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, said at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port has taken shape and momentum. Over the past five years, the opening-up of the Hainan Free Trade Port has been increasing. Actual use of foreign investment reached 102.5 billion yuan, with an annual increase of 14.6%; foreign direct investment reached 9.78 billion US dollars, with an annual increase of 97%; 8098 new foreign-invested enterprises were established, with an annual increase of 43.7%; and goods trade and services trade grew by an average of 31.3% and 32.3% per year.
